The Kingsey Broad Beam Barge range is designed for the discerning customer who wants something different in their boat.. Ideal as an UK based apartment boat or as a mobile pied-a-terre on the spacious inland waterways of France, Holland & Germany, the Kingsley is available both as standard layout boats (with a range of options to allow you to fully personalise your boat) and also as a fully bespoke, individually designed and built boat, for those that want something truly special. Fitted out using quality materials by our fully time served craftsmen in the Czech Republic, it offers outstanding quality and outstanding value for money too. The Kingsley compares very favourably with equivalent boats produced by other manufacturers, which usually carry considerably higher price tags. The layout of the standard boat (from the rear) is Galley, Lounge, (Optional 2nd Bedroom), Bathroom and Master Bedroom. The layout can be varied at the customer's choice, for example, perhaps by moving the galley into the wheelhouse or altering the order of the accomodation modules. More photographs are shown further down this page Looks are important for pride in ownership, and above the waterline the Kinglsey carries all the character and grace of a Barge style boat. Below the waterline, the Kingsley is identical to a wide beam stretched narrowboat, giving a regular "rectangular" shaped cabin with a flat base plate, which provides the optimum shape and space for the accomodation. No ballast is required apart from trim ballast.
The Kingsley is probably one of the easiest to drive wide beam style boats around. It's physical dimentions, including the relatively low water and air drafts (2'3 and 6'7 respectively), mean that smaller waterways remain navigable with a Kingsley, which is especially important within the British Isles. The hydraulic steering, coupled with the good balance of engine, propeller and rudder, makes the Kingsley highly responsive to the helm and a joy to steer. An optional bow thruster is available.
